7 Quick Takes Friday — 6 Truths and 1 Heresy

7 quick takes sm1 7 Quick Takes Friday (vol. 130)

So I’ve been looking for cool picture quotes to add to my Pinterest boards. During my travels through the Internets, I’ve come across some great ones, and some not so great. Some downright crazy. Some which portray with stunning clarity the cultural abyss we seem to be standing on the edge of. So this week’s quick takes are dedicated to six good ones, and one big, fat, fail. See if you can guess which one it is!

Clue: If you picked this one, you’re wrong.

You can't buy happiness by Gayana on Etsy

Ok, so maybe you don’t think ice cream brings happiness. Obviously you’ve never had good ice cream.

It’s big because it’s true.

The Sweet Life by dazeychic on Etsy

Ok, so maybe that’s not universally true. But it sure is true in this family (with the addition of God+Library+Garden = all you need.)

Yeah. You can trust me, I’m a powerful lady.

Always true. And good words to remember when you see the beauty up next.

(This is the heresy. I saved it for last so you wouldn’t have to look at it for too long.

Oh yeah? So I guess if you’ve never experienced the ocean, it’s not real. Thanks Dave Hume for this steaming pile of crap.

And just because I love you all, here’s a bonus heresy:

Well, that’s good to know. Because I really FEEL like throwing rotten fruit at the author of this. I’m glad it’s ok to do that, since I should never fight my feelings. Thanks moral relativism!

Have a happy weekend! And go visit Jen, where there are no heresies.

  1. Haha, this is great! Though technically isn’t the first one a heresy (at least according to the Catholic Church) unless you read it very loosely?

  2. Rae,

It’s possible. I don’t know for sure. I have to admit, I did read it pretty loosely. Maybe I should change it?

  3. I think Rae might be right, but I’m so glad that I’m no the only one that wants to throw things at those stupid touchy-feely crap slogans! 🙂
